If
describing by can really represent something then just modeling the whole of it
can make it alive.
Here we are just talking about the drafting and modeling
part of any subject. Now to begin with we all might be aware of the computer
aided designing process where we use a variety of techniques to make a computer
generated model of almost any object presented to a user. In a basic cad
software which is mostly used by core sector engineers. In CAD we generally get
a 2D imaging of the object and the specimen is visible only on a 2 D domain and
even though we get see the whole of it but the actual perception of the object
is not achieved. This is the reason why it is suggested that if the object is
to be viewed in 3D then it s 3D model is to be generated and for the same we
need to have some better tools.
Some of the other engineering drawing tools
like the pro e and some others cannot fulfill the requirements of the
designers. Now the question that arises is why there is a necessity of having
the 3D model of a product. It is a general human tendency that our brain can
process those objects which are visible as a whole and if not that we have to
assume a lot many things by our own. In engineering terms a better assumption
for calculation can be done if we are acquainted with the scaled model of the
object. In solid work we try to make the solid model of any work piece so that
it can replicate the whole of the object. The major facilities provided by the
solid work are that we can scale down the subject. By scaling we mean just
minimizing the object by a particular multiple. For example we can say that the
model provided by solid work is 400 times smaller than the actual one and hence
we can make the rest of the assumptions very easily. Now while we do so we need
to follow certain rules and standards. The standards are maintained as the
models created by the solid work are to be handled by technician’s world over.
For this reason American National Standards Institute has developed a few
standards to increase the products global acceptability and competitiveness. It’s
the voice of many engineering organizations like the ASME, IEEE etc which are
known world over. ANSI Standard Drawing
is closely related to the ISO drafting standards.
